To anyone who is reading this thread and plans to work in Security Forces Hospital in Dammam in Saudi Arabia. PLEASE! DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT DARE APPLY or in any way dare transferring to this hospital –at least not at its current state. This is not bashing against the Ministry of Interior or any Security Forces Hospital as they have reputable hospitals here in the kingdom. It just so happens that this branch hospital is currently under a private company called AL EWAN MEDICAL and no one knows until when they have the hospital in their grip. I am a nurse here and it is the worst decision I have made to have ever accepted the job here. This is not a propaganda. This is merely a fact disseminated to protect our fellow nurses and allied health workers from the misery that we all go through here. Other people have poured out their grievances on media and specifically enumerated the reasons why they dread this place. So, please take all these into account.

The main reason for the numerous resignations handed to the administration by the employees, especially the nurses, is the Director of Nursing namely WAED ALFAOUMEE, this name equates to an vile, heartless, inhumane person, who has no etiquette on how to treat her subordinates. The so called nursing leaders she has appointed do not even have a say on the affairs of the department. Hence, all decisions still lie on solely one person – the director of nursing. She also meddles in the affairs of the other departments. Also because of her, tracing back several months ago she started the separation of nurses from other departments. This includes simple things such as occupying the bus, identifying it as “only for nurses” and shopping trips where the housekeepers and other allied health workers were prohibited from taking the transportation and trips with nurses. Now, people have gone against each other here.

Shopping trips are supposed to be the only outlet we have here with all the stresses we encounter at work. But even that was taken away from us. People are only legally allowed to go out once a week with a very limited time. What about employees who work shifts? I leave your logical mind to decide how our life here really is. Feels like prisoners have more freedom than us. To add to all the misery, we have experienced to even pay for our own fuel so we can go out shopping.

Nurses are not allowed to go out on weekends, nor are unmarried female employees allowed to visit their relatives and spend the weekend out of the four corners of their rooms, if allowed they had to go through all the hassle just to have their papers and passes signed. Her evil ways continues, I remember how she would lock the employees lounge as a form of punishment, to the extent these people have taken their lunch in the comfort room. Female nurses stood outside of the cafeteria eating their meals while the male nurses and other male employees comfortably sit inside the cafeteria; she has humiliated people in front of everyone in the main auditorium and frequently yells at people; and she demands to be treated with respect, yet doesn’t show respect to people. Leadership by example is not one of her principles. She is the WORST person who has ever walked the face of the earth. This may sound exaggerated, but even SATAN will bow down to her.
The accommodation in this company is by far the worst anyone will ever encounter. Yes, the structure is new however very congested. Four occupants in one room. New employees have no beds, no cabinets, no tables. We have to provide and pay for our own gas tank for our cooking stove and purchase our drinking water. They lack amenities for their employees –those of which other hospitals in the kingdom will provide but this hospital/company just cannot, of which reason still remains unknown. It may be due to the fact that this is under a corrupt company feeding in the resources of the Ministry Of Interior. They have looked past the comforts of their employees and may have forgotten that we are humans who deserve a better living conditions than what we have now.

Salary is another issue. From our home country, a government agency regulating overseas employment requires a minimum of 3000 SR as a starting salary for workers here in Saudi Arabia. For some employees here, this is not the case. The agencies currently hiring might be giving false information to entice applicants into pursuing their applications to this hospital. Please don’t fall for these. THERE IS NO SALARY INCREMENT. THERE HAS BEEN NONE. Even employees who have worked hard do not get any incentives for the hard labor and creativity they have served in this institution, not even for the staff with a lower position who shows promise in their work. Furthermore, staff assignment and positions given to employees of different categories. RN 2 with presumably 4 years of experience is doing supervisory work, on the other hand a staff with 17 years of experience is demoted to a non nursing work in the materials department. It’s hard to write down sarcasm, but I hope I express it here clearly, HOW AMAZING IS THAT???!!!!

This hospital is called Security Forces Hospital, a branch of the main hospital in Riyadh. But what seems to be is that this is more of an extension of KING HUSSEIN CANCER CENTER in Jordan. Policies were copied word for word; activities such as the upcoming and conceivably a big failure, nursing scientific day; and the social box, where we pay 10 riyals every month (in which the money goes to God knows who’s pocket) were all adapted from that hospital in Jordan where she previously worked before. We all came from other prestigious hospitals here in Saudi Arabia and in our home countries but we managed to move on and accept that this is a different hospital and we cannot impose and carry on the policies and other matters that we have gone used to in our old work place. WAED ALFAOUMEE acts like she is a stock holder of the hospital, manipulating everything. I hope the MINISTRY OF INTERIOR will take action about this. We need SECURITY FORCES HOSPITAL RIYADH POLICY AND PROCEDURES and we foresee better management when the current director of nursing is out of post. She is useless, abominable, incompetent and we despise her!

Again I emphasize, this is not a propaganda. I merely described how people feel about the current management and the status of this hospital. I have just disclosed the reality, contrary to what agencies have sold you just to convince applicants. Everything has gone haywire in this place. We frequently have new administrative officers, they stay in their posts for a few months and then leave of which reason we do not know. The only person holding on to her power like a parasite is the director of nursing. I know for a fact she has been hovering like a vulture preying on who exactly is this person behind all these. This is just not one person. I am just one of the many employees of this institution hoping for a change. Many have already expressed how they truly feel –I am just one of them. It saddens me how these good hearted people decided to give up their posts here just because of one person and because of the disorganized management that does not have a system.

To administrators of this hospital and to the Ministry of Interior, I hope this comes to you attention. Please act on this. Exterminate the parasite! I May have missed to bring up other significant points. Nonetheless, I somehow painted a picture of the real scenario in this horrid place.

To Miss Waed Abbas Alfaoumee (however you spell your name) the present Director of Nursing, I hope you have enjoyed your trip looking for new employees for the hospital. Were you able to hire new people for the impending mass vacancy of YOUR hospital? Please open your heart, if you have any. Please act more humane and please do not be an ignorant tyrant. Everyone around your are mere hypocrite leeches aiming for a position –they too loath you! If you vaguely understand what I have written here, please seek the assistance of your so called “capable and intelligent” assistants and let them translate to you to a poorer English for you to understand every detail of this note. You enjoy your comforts, while we enjoy each and every ridicule people come up about you. You are as ugly as your demeanor. Your skin is as black as your heart. Bear in mind you are also a foreigner in this country, you can be deported anytime. Do not act as if you own the world, YOU ARE EXPENDABLE as there are many more qualified directress who can run the nursing department and give it dignity, and we look forward to the day when you will be replaced.

To all the nurses, paramedics, administrative employees looking for employment in this institution, please think twice before your give up your freedom and your sanity to be in this place. This is not aimed to discourage you, this is solely the truth. I’m sure things will improve here, when? That I cannot certainly answer. For now, we remain hopeless here and cannot easily leave because of the oppression they impose upon those who have already expressed their desire to leave –be it monetary (payment of approximately 6,000 SR) when it was clearly contradictory to what was signed in the contract. Other circumstances I cannot speak of as I do not yet have first-hand knowledge of the synopsis of the resignation and end of contract process in this hospital. Therefore, do not question those who still are here. There are many other better institutions in the kingdom actively hiring, please look into those. You may pursue employment here when things have been sorted out and when the system has already been established.

With all that has been divulged in this long passage. I leave to all the current employees, applicants and leaders and their logical mind to act on what has been presented to you.

Established na kc ang branch sa Riyadh at under ng Ministry of Interior kaya maayos ang pamamalakad. Unlike dun sa Dammam branch, ang nag-susupply ng manpower pati planning and implementation of policies and guidelines ay isang private company named Al Ewan Medical Company na walang sistema kaya ganyan na lang ang hinanakit ng mga kababayan natin dun. kawawa naman sila.
